Appointment of Rev. Kirsty Long as rector of Mattishall &Tudd Valley benefice

This morning it was announced that:

Bishop Jane is delighted to say that after a successful interview earlier this week and with unanimous agreement the Revd Kirsty Long has been offered and accepted the post of Rector for the Mattishall and Tudd Valley benefice.

A date for the licensing service has yet to be agreed but it is likely to be in the spring.

In the meantime, please pray for Kirsty and her husband Stuart as they make arrangements to say goodbye and make preparations to move into the benefice.

Those us who met Kirsty on the interview day last Thursday are also delighted and look forward with relish to Kirsty and Stuart joining us.

Thanks be to God!

Advertising for new Incumbent

Advertising for new Incumbent

Tomorrow (Monday 20th October 2025) should see a new advert placed on the diocesan website and the national Church of England website as we have our third attempt at getting a new incumbent. When those are actually in place, we'll add links to them here. In the meantime, you can see the new benefice profile, which will form part of that advertising. It can be opened or downloaded HERE.

The exact wording of an advert to go in the Church Times, both online and in the actual newspaper, is being checked, but will also be put on our website when done.

Bible Course to be run in October

Bible Course to be run in October
We are running another 8 session Bible Course from Bible Society. We started running this course a few years ago and around 60 people have done it. There is a new edition of the course now available and we will be starting at 2pm on Monday 13th October at 4, Mill Road, Mattishall (not 6th October as originally planned). If you are interested in joining us, please let one of the Ministry Team know. You can email me, for example, on alan.cossey@matvchurch.uk
The video for the first session can be seen at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WAEi7LOLVx8. There is also a manual to go with the course, which is very helpful.
